On 9\28\07 at 1000hrs Guilford Fire units where dispatched to 104 North Street for the report of a bedroom fire. Upon arrival Fire Chief Herschaft called a signal 20 working fire on the 1st floor of a 2.5 story wood. Truck 173 laid in from the nearest hydrant to establish a water supply. 173 pumped the fire and operated its platform. The crew from Rescue 191 did a rapid primary search of the second floor due to a vehicle being in the driveway and the 2nd floor occupant was unaccounted for. An 1 3\4 attack line was pulled from Truck 173 and stretched to the fire room on the first floor. The hose crew encountered zero visability throughout the fire attack. The primary search came up negative by the Rescue Crew. The fire was knocked in the hallway and bedroom and a 2nd line was stretched to the 2nd floor to cut off the fire spread in the balloon frame structure. 2nd floor crews did an excellent job of opening up and stopping the rapid spreading fire within the walls. Secondary search came up negative and all occupants where accounted for. Branford Crews responded as R.I.T and carried out overhaul once North Madisons R.I.T arrived and relieved them. All units where clear at approx 1200hrs.
