Marine Division
The Guilford Fire Department Marine Division covers 7 miles of shoreline on Long Island Sound east of New Haven. The Division also covers 2 navigatable rivers, 4 recreational lakes used for swimming,fishing and boating, 1 large water supply resevior, 5 commercial marinas and a major shipping lane off our coast. We also have a federal area of refuge known as Faulkners Island.
The division is responsible for Search and Rescue, fire suppression, assisting with disabled and or injured boaters,swimmers etc.. We also assist the U.S. Coast Guard from section New Haven.
The Division equipment consists of a 25' Grady White with Twin Yamaha 200 horsepower outboards, A 16' Zodiac Inflatable with a 60 horsepower Mercury.
